The Bernice Kish Gallery at Slayton House, 10400 Cross Fox Lane, Columbia, Maryland, is pleased to announce the opening exhibit in the galleries for the 2013-2014 gallery season. Karen Carpenter and Irene Whitaker will have a mixed media exhibit entitled “Perspectives” in the Bill White Room and Lobby Gallery. The exhibit will run from Sept. 10 to Oct. 21. This exhibit is part of the Howard County Road to the Arts.
Karen Carpenter, of Ellicott City, has exhibited at the Howard County Conservancy Art of Stewardship Juried Shows in 2010, 2012 and 2013. She received Best in Show, Third Place in 2013 and Best in Howard County in April 2010. Carpenter also participated in the Studio 180 Dance Free the Children Fundraiser Auction in 2013.
Irene Whitaker, of Columbia, Maryland, has also exhibited in the Howard County Conservancy Art of Stewardship Juried Shows in 2010, 2012, 2013. She received Best in Show, Third Place in 2012 and Best in Show in April 2010.Both . Carpenter and Whitaker have previously exhibited at Studio 180 Dance in Annapolis, Willowbrook Studio Shows at Oliver’s Carriage House and at the Bernice Kish Gallery at Slayton House.
