LPGA/USGA Sponsoring Golf Clinic for Girls This Sunday at Fairway Hills Golf Club

Young female golfers are invited to Fairway Hills Golf Club this Sunday, June 8, for a free golf clinic sponsored by the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the United States Golf Association, and The First Tee of Howard County.

The event is for girls between the ages of 7 and 16. The clinic will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at the golf club, which is located at 5100 Columbia Road in Columbia. It will feature Clara Huff, a former collegiate golfer who is now a sales representative for Callaway Golf. After the clinic, attendees will be able to use the driving range and chipping and putting areas with several First Tee coaches.

The First Tee of Howard County is one of the county’s premier youth organizations and is nationally ranked among First Tee chapters. Its mission is to impact the lives of youth by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. The First Tee — an initiative of the World Golf Foundation — reaches youth on golf courses, in elementary schools and at military installations. Since its inception in 1997, The First Tee has introduced golf and its values to more than 4.7 million participants.

Columbia Association (CA) operates two golf clubs: Fairway Hills Golf Club and Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club.
