CA was been awarded a silver certification. It was recognized for many reasons, with just a few of them being its employees’ access to fitness facilities, participation in community-health related events, and being paid to take CPR training.
Those honored can receive bronze, silver and gold certifications. CA has now participated for three of the program’s four years, earning bronze certifications in 2010 and 2011.
At this year’s Fourth Annual Healthy Workplaces Awards Ceremony, 58 businesses were recognized based on their comprehensive efforts to improve the health of their work force and working environment.
“We value our team members and their overall health and well being, and we take steps to ensure that they live healthy and happy lives,” said Megan Monahan, marketing manager for CA. “We pride ourselves on being an organization that cares for its team members.”
Healthy Workplace certifications, according to the program’s website, recognize employers “that are committed to improving employee health and well-being across five categories: health education; supportive social and physical environments; integration of worksite wellness into organizational structure; linkage with related programs; and screening programs.”
Monahan said the award not only accentuates what CA is doing well as an employer, but helps show what areas can still be improved on in the coming years.
“Our goal is eventually to be gold,” she said.
