All the Fitness Classes at CA

In the next few weeks, I’m going to be talking about some of the classes offered at Columbia Association (CA) fitness clubs to give you an idea of what each class entails. I’m doing this for my job and for selfish reasons. First, it’s a great way to get to know CA, but it’s also a great way to get my body into a smaller pair of jeans for the CA Rock Your Jeans fitness program.

To get started, I went through this past year’s CA Activities Guides and the fitness facilities’ schedules as well as talked to CA staff who schedule classes. What I found is that there are a lot of classes to choose from! There are fitness classes already included in your membership fees, personal training classes, physician referred programs and KidSpace classes. There are classes at each of the three fitness facilities: Columbia Athletic Club, Columbia Gym and Supreme Sports Club as well as classes at Columbia Swim Center, Hobbit’s Glen and Fairway Hills Golf Clubs, Columbia Ice Rink, Columbia SportsPark, tennis courts and more. I didn’t even include any of the CA camps that are fitness related. All together, it’s a lot!

While it’s great to have so many choices, it can be overwhelming figuring out which classes are the best for you and your family. So to help me and to help you, I’ll start by giving you a rundown of the classes and what level of membership they fall under. In follow-up posts I will talk about how to choose classes based on your age and your fitness level. You’ll have to decide if it sounds interesting to you from there on your own.

Look at that list! If I went to each of those classes just one time, doing one class a day (and if they let me sit in on all classes), it would take me more than 3 months to complete. I am sure I would be able to skinny down into those smaller jeans for sure!

Isn’t the choice amazing? And I’m sure there are some I have missed! If I did, let me know and I’ll add them!
