This year’s Teen Idol finalists will perform in front of — and be judged by — an award-winning gospel artist. Maurette Brown Clark, who has earned multiple Stellar Awards for her music, has been named the special guest judge at the finale of Columbia Association’s (CA) 10th annual Hear My Voice Teen Idol Competition.
The best of the best have already advanced through the auditions and semifinals. They will sing this Sunday, Oct. 14, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Downtown Columbia Lakefront. The competition, which was open to youth from sixth grade through 12th grade, will see the winner receive a grand prize of $500. A People’s Choice Award winner will also be selected by the crowd.
All Teen Idol finalists must agree to participate in a community service project organized by CA’s Youth and Teen Center, which is a facility where teens and preteens can socialize and participate in recreational and educational programs.
