Recently, Columbia Association (CA) and Howard County Library hosted a screening of “Urbanized” a documentary that takes a careful look at a variety of cities and the assets and challenges of their designs. The question for Columbia is this: How should the art and science of city development affect our planning?
There was an invitation for input after the screening. In addition to the open flow of ideas, attendees were given an index card and asked to write the answer to the prompt: “I wish Columbia were ______________.” Answers could be one word or as many as could fit.
The results were gathered and compiled into a “wordle” word cloud (below) to display the most popular concerns. The more prominent words in the cluster are the ones that were cited most. You can get a closer look at all the words here.
