The action-packed, fat-burning and muscle-toning workout that is Piloxing® is coming to Columbia this fall, and Columbia Association (CA) is offering members and non-members alike the opportunity to don the gloves and drop the pounds.
CA will be offering Piloxing® classes on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. at Claret Hall, located at 6020 Daybreak Circle in River Hill. The workout includes elements of both boxing and Pilates, and participants often wear weighted gloves that increase the health benefits of the exercises.
Two free Piloxing® demonstration classes have been set for Oct. 20 and Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The demos are open to the public, though space is limited to 50 people. Pre-registration is required and is available at piloxing-demos.eventbrite.com.
A six-week paid session will then begin in November, with classes from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Nov. 3, Nov. 10, Nov. 17, Dec. 1, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15. There is no class on Thanksgiving weekend. The six-week session is $60 for members, and $72 for non-members. Registration is available at the demonstrations (cash or checks accepted) or at the Columbia Gym, which is located at 6151 Day Long Lane in River Hill (cash, checks and credit cards accepted).
