Out with the old and in with the new. That’s the philosophy behind every New Year’s Day, and that’s the motivation behind Columbia Association’s (CA) new “Rock Your Jeans” fitness program, which inspires people to drop two jean sizes in eight weeks so they can rock their new look in 2013. But why wait until next year? “Rock Your Jeans” encourages people to get fitter sooner.
The fitness program starts Oct. 15 and runs through Dec. 15. Each participant will purchase a pair of jeans that is two sizes too small, or will bring an old pair of jeans that doesn’t fit anymore to the first personal training session. The assigned personal trainer will keep those jeans, and participants will be able to try them on halfway through the program in order to check their progress. People who do not have two jean sizes to lose can still work with a personal trainer to develop alternative fitness goals.
“Rock Your Jeans” will feature weekly motivational personal training sessions with two-person teams; workout plans that include fitness classes; paired workouts so that everyone has a partner for encouragement, support and fun; a comprehensive nutrition program; and an event at the end of the program to celebrate success and retire the larger pair of jeans.
Registration runs through Oct. 8 and can be completed at any of the three CA fitness facilities. “Rock Your Jeans” is $299 for Package Plan Plus members, $319 for Package Plan/Club members, $379 for CA Resident Non-Members and $399 for Non-Members. A brochure is available at this link.
In addition, CA will be launching the program with a free “Rock Your Jeans” expo on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Supreme Sports Club Arena. CA is partnering with Macy’s to present an event full of fitness, fashion and fun, with a fall fashion show, fitness class demos and giveaways — all while meeting local businesses and organizations that focus on health, happiness and overall wellness. The expo will include a sampler class at 9:30 a.m. that includes Mat Pilates, a Zumba® circuit, hip-hop line dancing and belly dancing; a 10:30 a.m. Tae Bo® session; an 11:30 a.m. fashion show; and a 12:15 p.m. Zumba® class.
