Five records were broken. The new top times came in:

  • the mixed 11-12 200-yard medley relay (Calvin Tuttle, Erin Vance, Greg Costello and Ana Lesho of Harper’s Choice)
  • the girls 15-18 50-yard butterfly (Casey West of Phelps Luck)
  • the girls 5-under 25-yard freestyle (Kendall Madison of Long Reach)
  • the girls 7-year-old 25-yard freestyle (Rachel Soubier of Harper’s Choice)
  • the girls 7-year-old 25-yard backstroke (Sanjana Rao of Pointers Run)

The meet, held July 27 and July 28 at Phelps Luck Pool in Long Reach, was the culmination of the Columbia Neighborhood Swim League season. The league, which includes 14 teams, is a recreational summer league for youth in Columbia and the surrounding Howard County area.

Swimmers range in age from three to 18 and range in ability from novice swimmers to those who participate on the national stage. No matter their age or ability, swimmers are able to participate in five dual meets and the season championship meet.

Nearly 2,500 swimmers participated this season, with 1,079 of them entering the championship meet. Congratulations to all for another great season!
