Former reporter David Greisman has joined the Columbia Association (CA) this June as its new media relations specialist, a role that combines his passion for telling stories about Columbia together with CA’s mission of providing quality-of-life amenities for people who live, work and play in Columbia.
Greisman, who grew up in Columbia, launched the Columbia Patch news website in 2010 and later was a reporter for The Columbia Flier and The Howard County Times. He has also worked for The Baltimore Sun and The Keene (N.H.) Sentinel.
“Working at CA is a natural progression from what I was doing,” Greisman said. “I’m here to spread the word about the countless fantastic features, programs and services CA offers, and to spotlight the many people who make all of that possible.”
David will work with media members who are covering CA-related stories. He also will nurture a storytelling culture within CA, developing informational resources on major initiatives, monitoring what’s being written about CA and training key members in media relations.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of CA,” Greisman said. “I fell back in love with my hometown from the moment I returned. There’s so much to love about living here, and there’s so much I can help show people so that they can feel the same way.”
