CA’s first-ever camps program for the whole family
The Columbia Association (CA) Camps Department will venture on its first family-friendly weekend excursion to explore the town and battlefields of Gettysburg, Penn. The all-inclusive trip includes camping, hiking, camp games and historical tours of the area, including the Gettysburg Cyclaroma, an interactive learning experience of Gettysburg’s history, and the Gettysburg battlefields. Depending on the ages of those who attend, the trip may also include a visit the Eisenhower Center and/or the Land of Little Horses. Families will learn how to pitch tents, build a camp fire and play traditional camp games. Orientation will be on Friday, May 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. Departure will be on Saturday, May 5, at 8 a.m. and returning the afternoon of Sunday, May 6.
Excursion fees are as follows: CA residents – $130 for adults, $90 for kids; non-residents – $155 for adults, $115 for kids. Each child registered for the 2012 camp season will receive a $10 discount on the excursion. Fee covers camping, hiking, games and historical tours. Minimum age to participate is eight and there must be one adult family member for every three children they register.
