The Columbia Association (CA) announces the hiring of Vicki Buda, CPA, CSOE, as its new assistant controller. Buda brings more than 20 years of accounting experience to CA, including financial and cost accounting; financial analysis; and auditing. Buda most recently served as a senior financial analyst at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel. Buda received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Towson University.
At CA, the assistant controller reports to the treasurer and is responsible for managing specific CA accounting functions; financial reporting functions; preparation of CA’s applicable tax returns; preparation of specific audit work papers, budget workpapers, and the Board of Directors’ reports; and other miscellaneous tasks.
CA is a nonprofit benefit corporation that strives to enhance the quality of life for people living and working in Columbia; respect the land; foster the growth of individuals; and ensure the community remains open, integrated and caring.
