More than a year in the making, draft plan is ready for review
The Columbia Association’s (CA) Board of Directors Planning and Strategy Committee will host a public meeting/work session on the draft Aquatics Master Plan on Tuesday, January 31, at 7 p.m. at Claret Hall in River Hill. The Board encourages community members to attend and comment on the draft plan. There will be a brief presentation by staff on plan highlights and the Aquatics Master Plan Task Force chair will also provide remarks. The public review draft Aquatics Master Plan will be available online at ColumbiaAssociation.org/AquaticsMasterPlan on January 17.
The Aquatics Master Plan is a long-term plan for CA’s aquatic facilities. The goals of the master plan are to engage the Columbia community in an inclusive process for the future of Columbia’s aquatics programs; provide a framework for Columbia aquatic facilities that balances current and future community needs given changing demographics and resource constraints; and establish implementation priorities for the future of Columbia aquatics. The plan’s development is currently in its final phase of a three-phase process. Following the review of the draft plan by the community and the CA Board, the master plan will be finalized later this winter. CA is offering free childcare during the meeting; however, prior reservation is required.
