CA Grows Social Media Presence with Twitter and YouTube

This December, the Columbia Association (CA) launched two new social media sites to increase awareness of CA news, programs and facilities.  CA’s new Twitter account, @CA_intheNews, focuses on sharing news about CA with links to newspaper articles, blog posts, photos and videos that mention CA facilities, programs and initiatives. In addition to tweeting media mentions about CA, news about Columbia, downtown redevelopment and the Columbia villages will also be shared. Members and residents interested in keeping up to date about CA in the media are encouraged to visit and follow CA.

CA’s new YouTube channel will make our videos more accessible online and on mobile devices; more interactive through commenting; and more shareable via social media networks. CA will also have the ability to post timely videos regarding breaking news, live events and important announcements, as well as share archived videos from our extensive collection. Subscribers to will receive notices when a new video has been posted.

CA plans on using these and more social media tools to encourage two-way communication with people who live, work and play in the Columbia area.  CA’s central CA Facebook page – – launched in 2010 and has since become a popular resource for residents and members to stay informed about CA news, events and initiatives. Major CA periodical publications, such as CA Activities Guides and CA Monthly newsletter, are also posted using to increase their accessibility online and on mobile devices.
