First Hobbit’s Glen Clubhouse Work Team Meeting to be Held December 14

Work team meeting is open to the public; community encouraged to attend as audience

On December 14, Columbia Association (CA) staff and The H. Chambers Company will host the first of three work team meetings to discuss the Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club Clubhouse project. The work team is comprised of representatives from the Hobbit’s Glen golfing community, the neighborhood close to the course, representatives from the Harper’s Choice Village Board and CA staff. In accordance with the Request For Proposal (RFP), Phase One will consist of three work team meetings to examine space planning and programming, and the existing building and site survey; and will culminate with three “enhanced conceptual designs.” The designs, one renovation, one new building and one at the discretion of the architect, will be presented to the CA Board of Directors in March or April 2012. The CA Board of Directors has approved up to $6 million to either renovate or replace the clubhouse at Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club.

The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 14, at 3 p.m. in the Board Room at CA Headquarters, located at 10221 Wincopin Circle in Columbia.
