Join Us for a Cup of Joe and an Intro to Howard County’s Time Banking Program

Wednesday, June 15 at The Other Barn

The Columbia Community Exchange (CCE), in partnership with the Oakland Mills Village Association, is hosting a coffee social on Wednesday, June 15 from 10 to 11: 30 a.m. at The Other Barn. Join current CCE members and interested residents for coffee, social visiting and the chance to learn about CCE, Howard County’s time banking program.
CCE is a community-building program that fosters neighborliness every day. Time banking values everyone’s contributions equally and encourages neighborliness.  Membership is free and the concept is simple:  members barter services.  Spend an hour doing something for a fellow member in your community and earn a Time Dollar.  Then you have a Time Dollar to buy an hour of another member’s time or service.  It is a simple concept with profound effects that weave stronger communities, forge friendships and strengthen the daily fabric of life.   CCE has more than 150 members offering a variety of every day services including rides to appointments, household help, phone pal and pet care.
