Artists Turn ‘Trash’ Into Treasure in Art Reinvention

Exhibition features art created with raw, organic, found or recycled materials

 As part of the 2011 Columbia Festival of the Arts, the Columbia Art Center will showcase Art Reinvention, an exhibition featuring art created with raw, organic, found or recycled materials, June 9 thru June 26. A reception and gallery talk will be held Tuesday, June 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The invitational group show features two and three-dimensional works by local artists, including Ken Beerbohm, Jeff Bridges, Janice Crum, Richard D’Agostino, Michelle Dunn, Donald Edwards, Monica Herber, Amanda Mattos, Christina McCleary, Emily Michael and Jesse Wieman.

The Columbia Art Center is dedicated to providing artistic experiences in the visual arts for all ages and interest levels and to joining with local arts organizations and community businesses to create diverse offerings. Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. The Columbia Art Center is located at 6100 Foreland Garth in Columbia.
