Columbia Association Seeks Volunteer for Risk Management Committee

The Columbia Association Risk Management Committee is seeking a qualified member of the Columbia community to serve as a voting member of this committee.  The Risk Management Committee serves the Columbia Association (CA) and its Board of  Directors by administering the general liability self-insurance program, the responsibilities of which include assuring that the program is properly and responsibly administered by acquiring claims adjustment and administration, loss control and other risk management services; acquiring legal, actuarial and accounting services as required; formulating policy for program administration; and defining coverage scope and limitations. 

Members of the Columbia community interested in serving as a voting member of the CA Risk Management Committee must meet the following requirements:

1.       Have a least 10 years work experience in the general liability insurance or risk management industries with experience administering claims, assessing risk, implementing or administering risk management programs that present a level of complexity of insurance and risk management issues generally comparable to CA’s self-insurance program.

 

2.       Preferably be certified in risk management or insurance matters.

 

3.       Be a resident of CA-assessed property or be employed on CA-assessed property.

 

4.       Sign and comply with the CA Non-Disclosure Agreement for Advisory Committees and Resident Members of Board Committees.

 

The term of service for the committee-appointed member is three years.  The Risk Management Committee meets at least quarterly in closed session, due to the nature of the information discussed.
